I earned my B.S. in Conservation and Resource Studies with Departmental Honors from the University of California, Berkeley. My degree was earned under my maiden name: Sameen Ghazali.
I also spent several months living at a remote field station in French Polynesia where I developed my writing, research, and fieldwork skills in a truly unique context. I spent most of my time SCUBA diving to study nudibranchs (sea slugs masquerading as colorful, mini parade floats). It was an incredible opportunity to build professional skills, explore academic interests, and fulfill a goal of living abroad.
